The recipes on this site have been collected over many years and were a part of the recipe section of the old Burnt Toast weblog. Since I no longer blog but do reference the recipes frequently, I decided to create a new version dedicated to them alone.
Many recipes are my own, while others are based on versions found in cookbooks or around the web. In all cases, however, they are my own versions of those recipes, with my own additions and measurements.
Having grown up in the US, but now living in the UK, I tend to use a combination of American and English measurements – but have learned that using a scale is best for predictable results. I do sometimes use cups and spoon measurements and I try to show equivalents when I can be bothered to work them out, which is rarely these days.
