Nicelytoasted is my second website, established in May of 2002 after I moved from Blogspot to my own servers. Previous to that, I had a website called La Ragnatella, which I started as a sort of photoblog whilst living in Italy in 1995.
You’ll notice a gap of almost a decade where I didn’t post a single recipe. There are two reasons for this: One, I now work full time as a tech Product Director which gives me little spare time for much of anything and two, as a result, my partner (a very talented news photographer and an excellent cook) took up most of the cooking duties. Recently I started making desserts and puddings to take to Sunday lunches at the family farm and while my crumble was always a big hit, I wanted to mix things up a bit and record the successes.
All the photography on this site is my own. I love food photography, but taking photos of my own food is a little tricky, mainly because it’s the food we eat, and it’s never as nice cold, so apologies in advance if the photos look rushed! I also tend to take them on a phone these days.
